We aim to encourage an awareness of geographical and historical aspects of the local environment and the wider world and use a variety of strategies and resources to develop lively and enquiring minds. Teachers put great emphasis on stimulating children’s interest in their work by inviting visitors into school. Visits and workshops are also arranged in order to extend children’s knowledge and understanding. We have a wildlife pond on site and use this as a valuable resource for environmental studies.
We are very passionate about our local environment and learn about our local geography and the history of Guisborough, Middlesbrough and the surrounding area. Our children respond strongly to this, enjoying a greater understanding of our locality.
