Throughout Key Stage One (KS1), teachers organise a flexible programme of skills reinforcement. Children bring books home on a regular basis and we encourage them to read with their parents. This working partnership between home and school is also used to help children with spelling and basic number skills. The same approach continues through school, tailored to suit the individual needs of the child; where children wish to follow an interest acquired in school, or where staff feel that extra work might benefit the child’s understanding and progress, then work done at home could be useful. Children may occasionally be asked to complete unfinished work from class. Parental co-operation would be sought in any arrangements made.
Please try and support your child with doing their homework whenever possible. If there are occasions where family circumstances have prevented work from being done please contact school and let us know.
Remote Learning Policy
There are times when we need to move to home learning, here is our remote learning policy. If there was a need to move to remote learning, we would contact parent/carers with information initially using our Arbor messaging service.
