Communication

We communicate with parents and carers in so many ways.  Making sure everyone is aware of what is happening and when is very important. We hold parent/carer consultation evenings in the autumn and spring term.  We send home end of year reports and open the doors to school for parents and carers to come and see their children’s books.

Throughout the year we also..

  • email monthly newsletters providing updates, news and key information.
  • we have an active Facebook page which shares events, celebrations and school news.
  • we have a yearly planner, sent out at the beginning of the academic year, containing important dates to help families plan ahead.
  • there are also emails from teachers and the school office about upcoming events, reminders and class-specific information.
  • we hold information events at the start of the school year, helping parents understand expectations and routines.  At the end of the year we hold transition events so that children and families can meet their new teacher before the summer holidays.
  • we have information boards outside our school entrance doors.

We also have a communication flow chart so you know who to contact if you have a question or concern.  This chart will also give time frames for you so you know when you can expect a response or attend a follow-up meeting.
